New Banksy on wall opposite French Embassy in London - 24 Jan 2016

A new Banksy has appeared on the a opposite the French Embassy in London. The picture of a young girl from Les Miserables musical appeared in the early hours of Satuday morning and apparantly dipicts the French police's use of tear gas on refugees in the jungle camp of Calais. The artwork is very symbolic and shows the young girl crying whilst being engulfed in tear gas. The artist has added an interactive barcode underneath the image and if viewers hold their mobile phones to the barcode, they will be linked to a video showing the police raid in early January. This is just the latest in a string of artworks the artist has put up recently. The artist is showing support for the refugees, whilst appearing to highlight his feelings about the way European countries are dealing with the crisis.

Latest Update

The Banksy mural has already been covered up by workmen in the area by wooden panels to avoid further damage to the artwork.
